Researching Feminist Futures
September 2nd and 3rd, 2011 at the University of Edinburgh,
Graduate School of Social and Political Science
Researching Feminist Futures will provide a space for creative discussions of feminism in academic practice. This two-day conference is aimed at graduate and early years researchers working with feminism and/or gender. Its goal is to develop new networks, new knowledge and strengthen ways of working. In this way, we hope to celebrate our own efforts in feminist research whilst constructively re-imagining what feminist research can be.
The symposium will comprise a mix of individual contributions and methodological/theoretical workshops. It is designed to be a constructive, inclusive and collaborative environment. We will consider the transformative potential of feminist methodologies and our experiences with research and the research community. This includes how to do a feminist research project and what it’s like to be a feminist academic.
